Plane Crash Lands on Rancho Palos Verdes Beach

The pilot suffers minor injuries after his plane went down on the shoreline.
A pilot suffered only minor injuries today when he made an emergency landing on a Rancho Palos Verdes beach and the plane flipped over at the edge of the water.
The two-seater Piper Cub went down on the shoreline near the Trump National Golf Club about 11:40 a.m., county fire Inspector Scott Miller said.

"The pilot suffered only minor injuries and was talking to our paramedics and the lifeguards at the scene," Miller told City News Service. "There was no fire and the plane seemed to suffer only minor damage."
The pilot, who was treated at the scene, was only person aboard the plane, Miller said.
"I know they have notified the FAA and the Coast Guard, so far," Miller added.
Aircraft crashes and crash landings are also investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. No one at the Western regional NTSB office in Gardena was immediately available for comment.
