September 2nd celebrates National Blue Berry Popsicle Day. Whether you decide to purchase a box of blueberry-flavored Popsicle’s or make your own, the staff for National Calendar Day is certain that it will be a tasty treat!HISTORY OF POPSICLE’S
In San Francisco, California, in 1905, 11-yr-old Frank Epperson was outside on his porch, mixing water with a white powdered flavoring to make soda. Upon going inside, it left it there, on the porch, with the stirring stick still in it. That night in California, the temperature reached a record low and the following morning, Frank discovered the drink had frozen to the stick. This inspired the fruit-flavored “Popsicle”.
Years later, in 1922, Epperson introduced his treat at a fireman’s ball, found it to be a huge success, and then in 1923, he made and sold his frozen treat-on-a-stick at an amusement park in Alameda, California. In 1924, he applied for a patent for his frozen confectionery, which he called “Epsicle” ice pop. He then renamed it “Popsicle“.

Within our research, we have not been able to locate the creator of National Blueberry Popsicle Day History, an “unofficial” national holiday.

NATIONAL ANOTHER LOOK UNLIMITED DAY
Annually celebrated the day after Labor Day, National Another Look Unlimited Day encourages everyone to take a second look through things that are no longer want and that they are going to be getting rid of. To lessen the amount of things going into landfills, many items could be donated to charities, given away, re-purposed or recycled in another way.National Another Look Unlimited Day can be used as the “spring cleaning” of fall to de-clutter your home and simplify your lives while helping out a charity, the less fortunate, the homeless, crafters and etc.
Google is a great source for finding ways to re-purpose or up-cycle items instead of putting them into landfills.
