OK if you seen my last video this brick was given to me and the person told me that it's from the Pomona Brick Yard. And it was made around 1910, also it was one of the bricks that use to be in the basement of the Mayfair Hotel. It was just one of many that they used to build their furnace, you can see the burn marks on the brick. Now your mission if you accept it, is to take the letters and numbers PSP CO 36 R and find out ANY info you can. Well good luck and let me know what you find.
From my best searching, the brick was made by Pacific Sewer Pipe Company around 1910s-1921. PSP Co. was part of Pacific Clay Products who had bought out the Los Angeles Brick Company. Not sure what the 36 R stands for, but most likely the model number.
ReplyDeletePomona Brick Yard's bricks were pale red to red brown. Known for clumps of clay stuck on the surface, you can find it on Pilgram Congregational Church and the YMCA building, as well as Claremont High School. It may be the brick used in our gallery as well.
Hope this helps. That was fun.
Thank's good job, I learned something myself. Let me see what else I can come up with. I'll have to get something a little harder, OK I'll see what I can find and thank's for playing HISTORY OR NOT (echo, echo)
