Gusty Winds Expected Throughout Region

 

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Southern California, with Santa Ana winds being the main issue.
Forecasts call for wind gusts up to 60 mph in some areas, with sustained winds of 25 to 40 mph. The weather service also warns that due to the recent rains, trees could be tumbled over because of loosened soil.
That loosened soil could also cause debris to be blown onto roads, and increased dust being blown across the region.
Because of the high winds, certain sheltered areas could see temperatures dip to or below freezing overnight Wednesday, causing frost.
The winds are expected to continue through Thursday. Officials warn drivers of high profile vehicles to be cautious on the roads, and delay trips if possible, especially though the mountain passes.
The forecast calls for sunny skies through Saturday, with high temperatures remaining in the mid- to upper-60s.
