Monrovia Police arrested a woman on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment after she allegedly caused a three-car crash Thursday afternoon that sent her 13-year-old daughter to the hospital.
The crash was reported at about 4:04 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Madison Avenue and the woman determined to be at fault failed a field sobriety test, Monrovia Police Lt. Nels Ortlund said.
The woman's 13-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital, Ortlund said. Police referred the case to the Department of Children and Family Services.
"The child's not going to be released back to Mom," Ortlund said.
Further details about the incident were not immediately available.
