Board of Supervisors Extends Contract with Arboretum Foundation

The Board of Supervisors approved a 20-year agreement today for the operation of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.

The 127-acre historical garden, located at 301 N. Baldwin in Arcadia, includes colorful seasonal displays and a number of rare and endangered species. Under the agreement with the Los Angeles County Arboretum Foundation, the county will pay an annual management fee of $250,000 out of revenues generated by admission and tram fees.

The county will receive all revenues above $250,000 and up to $700,000, after which revenues will be split 50/50. The gardens are open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information is available at www.arboretum.org and (626) 821-3222.
