Monrovia Competing for 'Free Paint Job' to Revitalize Old Town

Monrovia has been selected as the only Southern California city to compete for a "free paint job" in a contest that seeks to revitalize communities across the country.

One of 100 cities chosen, Monrovia will compete in the "Main Street Matters" competition launched by the paint company Benjamin Moore.

"We are very grateful to be included in this program, and are hoping that Monrovians and all Southern California residents will cast their votes for our beloved Old Town," Monrovia Mayor Mary Ann Lutz said in a written statement.

Benjamin Moore will provide the supplies and labor needed to repaint the exteriors of businesses for the winning cities.
