Big Rig Overturns on 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar
Afternoon traffic on the Pomona (60) Freeway was once more snarled Friday afternoon when a big rig crashed and overturned, sending some 500 bags of wall texture flying onto the road and prompting lane closures.
The crash of the semi that was hauling a trailer into a sedan was reported at 1:43 p.m. on the eastbound 60, at the northbound Orange (57) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, the truck ended up on its side, with debris scattered all over the lanes.
A hard closure of the far right lane of 60 and the two far left lanes of 57 were completed but the 60 lane was reopened at 1:59 p.m., the CHP reported.
The gray Nissan involved in the crash sustained front end damage and had to be towed, the CHP reported.
A SigAlert for the 57 lanes remained in effect for about three hours, the CHP reported.
