Chino Youth Museum to host July events


CHINO - The Chino Youth Museum is celebrating July as Fred Aguiar Month with a number of fun activities.
Through a generous donation from Aguiar, the first 1,000 museum patrons in July, youger than 13 years old, will receive free admission. Before entering the California State Assembly, Aguiar served as the Mayor of Chino, member of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and served in the U.S. Army. In 2009 he was the recipient of the Spirit of Achievement Award and is the namesake of Fred Aguiar Square, a park adjacent to the Museum. July events: *Beat the Heat: free with admission from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. every Wednesday an interactive, staff-led activities like water olympics or ice hockey painting. Some activities may involve light water play. *Healthy Kids: free with admission from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. every Thursday, educational activities that teach children and families about healthy eating. *Edible Art Creations: from 5 to 6 p.m. July 18 and Aug. 15 participants will make edible beach balls or a fruit aquarium. $6 per child/per class. *Kids Night Out: Participants enjoy a fun Saturday evening at the Museum, while parents enjoy an evening out. The night's activities are themed and include dinner and activities from 6 to 9 p.m. July 20 through Aug. 17. $12 per child/per day. The Chino Youth Museum , 13191 Sixth St., Chino. The museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday and loses at 2 p.m. on the first Friday of every month.
