Relay For Life Returns to Honor Those Battling Cancer

Relay For Life of Diamond Bar is just around the corner.

This celebration of life brings together numerous groups and individuals concerned about cancer in a unified effort to fight back. Teams of enthusiastic members will gather at Lorbeer Middle School for an overnight “Hawaiian” themed Relay from 9 a.m. Saturday, June 8 until 9 a.m. Sunday, June 9. The event celebrates anyone who has battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost and empowers all to fight back against the disease.
Relay For Life opens with cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer) taking the first lap.  This emotional time sets the stage for the importance of each participant's contribution.

As participants make new friends and spend time with old ones, the Relay celebration and camp-out begins. Team members come together to celebrate, enjoy the entertainment and walk the track for a great cause. Highlighting the evening is the Luminaria Ceremony, held at 9 p.m. to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost their battle against cancer. Hundreds of luminaries (or bags filled with sand and a lit candle) line the track and are left to glow throughout the night to remind participants of the incredible importance of their contributions.

Lumianira bags are available online for a $10 donation.

Save the Date: Wednesday, June 6, Relay For Life is having a fundraiser to raise funds and bring the community together before Relay at Cherry On Top from 3-7pm.  We look forward to seeing you there and thank you in advance for your support.
