Mother Bear Gets Help from State Game Officials
A bear cub got away from its mother and ended up in some trouble.
A mother bear who was trying to rescue one of her two cubs who had fallen into a trash bin got some help from state game officials, authorities said today.
The mother bear tried to open the trash bin about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at a parking lot north of Azusa in the Angeles National Forest because one of her cubs was inside, but was unable to do so, Adam Smith, a state fish and game official, told KCAL9.
Smith told KCAL9 he chased the mother bear and another cub away and opened the lid. The baby bear crawled out of the bin, and the mother bear and her two cubs ran off into the forest.
