Specialty Retailer May Soon Open in Claremont

Vom Fass, a high-end retail specialty store may soon become a member of Claremont’s business community.
The Planning Commission will be reviewing a Conditional Use Permit request from the shop tonight at its regular meeting. The retailer has chosen to move into, 101 N. Indian Hill Boulevard, C2-100.

The permit would allow the sale of alcoholic beverages and on-site tasting, officials said.
According to the city, Vom Fass is a high-end retail specialty store selling artisan oils, vinegars, wines, and spirits with on-site tasting.
“It is a worldwide franchise with over 300 stores in 11 countries, including several in the United States,” wrote Claremont City Manager Tony Ramos. “The concept is based on a simple European tradition of sampling wares before purchasing, where customers are invited to sample any of the products sold in the store.”
The planning commission meets at 7 p.m. in the council chambers, 225 West Second St.
