Claremont Chase Bank Targeted By Would-Be Robber


Claremont Police say the man's attempt to rob the bank was thwarted by the teller.

Claremont Police are searching for a man whose attempt to rob a Chase Bank failed thanks to a teller who officials say refused to comply.
Officers were called to the bank, at 400 N. Indian Hill Blvd., at 5:53 p.m. on a report of a robbery in progress, police officials said through a news release.
According to police, the would-be robber walked up to the teller and handed over a note demanding money. She did not comply. Instead she locked her drawer and refused to give the suspect any money, officials said.

The robber fled out the west side doors and investigators did not immediately know where he went, according to the news release.
Police described the man as white, in his late 40’s, 5-foot-8 with a skinny build, long brown hair that was pulled back in a ponytail.
He wore a blue baseball hat, reading glasses, a blue Polo shirt and dark shorts.
Investigators ask anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
