Country Singer Trace Adkins, Sharks, Spiderman Among Attractions at County Fair Today

L.A. County Fair Daily Highlights – Aug. 31The L.A. County Fair is celebrating its 91st anniversary with one big party. Here’s a list of programs and deals for Saturday, Aug. 31. More information can be found at www.lacountyfair.com.
Today’s hours: 10 a.m. - midnight

Today’s Deals:
- $1 admission from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; $1 22-oz soft drinks from 1-4 p.m.; $2 carnival rides and games from 4-7 p.m.
- Ralphs Any-Day Tickets: admission tickets $10 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, comes with exclusive unlimited carnival ride wristband ($35). Restrictions apply. Presented by Ralphs.
-Cardenas Markets Any-Day Tickets: Admission tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12. Tickets can be picked up at participating Cardenas locations. 
- Costco Savings Pack: $54.99 for 4 any-day tickets, one parking pass and 44 carnival ride/game tickets. At participating Costco store.
- Children 5 and younger are free every day.

Today’s Top Things To Do:
Trace Adkins & special guest Kellie Pickler: Country star Trace Adkins boasts 10 studio albums and multiple music awards. American Idol contestant turned country singer Kellie Pickler will be performing as well. A limited number of free general admission tickets will be available beginning at 3 p.m. at the ticket kiosk on Rose Lane. Reserved seats are available at ticketmaster.com and the Fair box office. 7:30 p.m.

Spider-Man: This popular Marvel Comic superhero visits the America’s Kids: A Living Library of Fun attraction for meet and greets. 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
America’s Kids: Daily. Themed A Living Library of Fun, America’s Kids celebrates favorite children’s books and characters. Solve a mystery with Sherlock Holmes, go on a magical adventure with Harry Potter or travel back in time with an American Girl. The Magic Tree House series comes to life when brother and sister duo Jack and Annie bring their time traveling adventures to life at the Magic Tree House stage.
Live Shark Encounter: Daily. Visit Beneath the Sea for a close-up encounter with a shark. Observe real sharks swimming in a 5,000-gallon tank while following a captivating discussion on shark facts and fiction as you learn all about these fascinating creatures. 12:30, 3:30, 6:30 & 10:00 p.m.
Cooking Demonstration: Join Chef Leslie for a demo on quick and healthy meals. At the Village on Broadway. 3 & 4:30 p.m.
High-Flying Fun Trapeze School: Daily. Learn to fly the skies like a true circus performer. Located in Esmeralda’s Traveling Circus. Nominal fee for trapeze school.
Super Inflated: Daily. From crazy artistic hats to intricate sculptures, these talented balloon twisters will amaze you with their creativity.
Gwen in Doubt: Part of the Fair’s tribute band series, Gwen in Doubt delivers the best of Gwen Stefani and No Doubt. At the Coca Cola Stage. 7, 8:30, 10 & 11:30 p.m.
Festival Latinoamericano de Arte y Folklore: through Sept. 2. Celebrate the rich cultural traditions of Latin America this weekend with an artistic showcase of vendors and entertainment. Visit the Plaza de las Americas Stage for performances throughout the day.
