Crash on 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar Causes Injuries, Traffic Jam

Both the east and west sides of the Pomona (60) Freeway had to be shut down Sunday afternoon to allow a helicopter to land for an airlift to a trauma center following a crash near the Diamond Bar Boulevard exit, officials said.

The crash east of Diamond Bar Boulevard was reported at 3:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A maroon Pt Cruiser went off the freeway and up a hill, struck a tree and overturned, the CHP reported.

Callers reported wrong-way drivers trying to exit the Diamond Bar Boulevard entrance ramp once they saw it was closed.
