Today: Enjoy Friday Nights in Claremont-Laverne



There are a variety of events from library parties to live music and art to fill your Friday nights in Claremont or Laverne.

1. The Slammin’ Sliders food truck will be at Claremont Craft Ales after 4 p.m., 1420 N. Claremont Blvd, 204 C., Claremont.
2. It’s Friday Nights Live in downtown Claremont. This week’s performances are Tannin’s (jazz) at the Public Plaza, Jackson Family Band (folk/rock) at the Claremont Chamber and Nick Casilla & Family at city hall.
3. Claremont is hosting a First Friday Art Walk in West Village 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visit www.artwalkclaremont.com for more information.
4. The Laverne Public Library, 3640 D. St., is hosting a free End of Summer Carnival and Pizza Party today from 2 to 4 p.m.
5. Colors 91711 presents Friday Night Charity Knit Nights, donating 100,000 care packages to US service members deployed in hostile regions around the world. Bring donations to Colors 91711 and they will hand-deliver the packages to Operation Gratitude headquarters n November. For every hour of knitting or crocheting for Operation Gratitude, guests will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize. There will be a special kick-off day for Friday Night Charity Knit nights tonight from 6 pm. to midnight at 248 N. Harvard Ave., Claremont.
