UPDATE: Power Restored to Most After Marina del Rey, Venice Outage
An unplanned power outage in Marina del Rey and parts of Venice started at 8:21 a.m., according to Southern California Edison.
Power has been restored to about 3,600 of the roughly 4,200 Southern California Edison customers affected by an outage that began around 8:20 a.m. in the Marina del Rey and Venice areas, according to the Southern California Edison.
According to Southern California Edison spokeswoman Susan Cox, power was restored to approximately 2,500 customers before noon Thursday, leaving 1,700 still without power. By 2 p.m., the number of customers with power restored rose to 3,600.
Initially, SCE hoped all customers would be back in service by noon but, this afternoon, she said it would take longer.
"Our repair crews are working as fast and as safely as they can to get power back on to all our customers," Cox said. "So far, we don't have a cause for the outage."
Updates on the outage can also be viewed on Edison's interactive outage map.
