Just a few things to do this weekend



Friday: Cosmic Fishing returns to Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park, 800 N. Archibald Ave., Ontario, from 6 to 11 p.m. There will be a night of fishing and giveaways. The snack bar will be open. The cost is $10 per vehicle and $8 per fisherman. Those 16 and older must have a state fishing license. The park will be closed during the day in preparation for the event. Information: 909-481-4205.
Friday-Sunday: The 14th annual San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Rodeo will be at 11755 Glen Helen Parkway in Devore. Sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, it features bull riding, barrel racing, saddle and bareback bronc riding, team and tie-down roping and steer wrestling. General admission is $15 all three days with children 6 and under free. On Sunday, attendees get one free ticket with each paid admission. Friday and Saturday, gates open at 4 p.m. with the rodeo beginning at 8 p.m. On Sunday, gates open at 1 p.m. with the rodeo at 5 p.m.

Saturday: The 9th annual Megan Savage Memorial Race for a Cure 5K run/walk will be held at McCarthy Park, 2046 N. San Antonio Ave.,

Upland. Proceeds will benefit Megan’s Wings’ patient aid program benefiting children with cancer. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the 5K event starting at 8:30 a.m. A butterfly release will be at 11 a.m. in memory of or in honor of loved ones affected by cancer. Cost to participate on race day is $40. Information: 909-532-8135.Saturday: The San Dimas 5K Run and 1-Mile Family Fun Run, co-sponsored by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, will be at 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., respectively, at the San Dimas Civic Center. Late registration and day-of-event registration is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run beginning Saturday at 6:30 a.m. in the Senior Citizens/Community Center, 201 E. Bonita Ave. The day also includes a family fitness fair and a free, healthy breakfast for participants. The fair features health and fitness information from local health professionals. Saturday and Sunday: It will be Calico Days at Calico Ghost Town, the San Bernardino County regional park northeast of Barstow. The event celebrates Calico’s rich silver mining past and includes such events as a miner’s triathlon and a burro race. The ghost town is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for those 6 to 15 and free for 5 and under. The park also has camping available. Information: 800-86-CALICO.
