L.A. County Fair Highlights for Saturday, September 21



Here’s a list of programs and deals for Saturday. More information can be found at lacountyfair.com.
Saturday’s hours: 10 a.m. – midnight
Saturday’s Deals:
• Star Trek Promo: Guests in Star Trek attire get in free from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.
• Season Pass: presented by Walgreens, $24.99 for ages 6 and older at participating Walgreens
• Ralphs Any-Day Tickets: admission tickets $10 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, comes with exclusive unlimited carnival ride wristband ($35). Restrictions apply. Presented by Ralphs.

• Cardenas Any-Day Tickets: admission tickets $10 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, available at all participating Cardenas Markets.
• Costco Savings Pack: $54.99 for 4 any-day tickets, one parking pass and 44 carnival ride/game tickets. At participating Costco stores.
• Children 5 and younger are free every day.
Saturday’s Top Things To Do:
Zendaya with special guest Artist vs Poet: Zendaya is an actress, singer and dancer. She has been acting since age 6 and is best known for her role as the aspiring young dancer Raquel “Rocky” Blue on the Disney Channel original series Shake It Up! She will be performing as part of the End of Summer Concert Series, presented by Toyota. A limited number of free general admission tickets will be available beginning at 3 p.m. at the ticket kiosk on Rose Lane. Reserved seats are available at ticketmaster.com and the Fair box office. 7:30 p.m.

Car Show: Catch the California Classics Car Show at Barretts Race Meet. Thirty classic cars will be on display from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sea Lion Splash: Daily. This entertaining show brings out the natural comedic behavior of these animals. Watch them perform balancing acts, sing and even dance. Located at Beneath the Sea: An Underwater Adventure.
Cirque de Feu: Watch these acrobats juggle, skip rope and do stunts with fire. Located at Esmeralda’s Traveling Circus. 7, 9 & 10 p.m.
Thor: Thor is one of several powerful ancient beings who, upon being given a hammer enchanted with powerful magic, was declared the greatest warrior of Asgard. Meet the superhero in America’s Kids: A Living Library of Fun. 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Wine Classes: Wine expert Paul Wagner and sake expert Toshio Ueno take guests on a tour of France and Japan, respectively. Visit the Wine & Beer Marketplace for the following classes: “French Wines from A to B,” 2 p.m.; “Wines You’d Never Order – But You Should,” 4 p.m.; “Shochu – Japanese Distilled Spirit,” 6 p.m.
Timber Mountain Slide: Celebrate the one-year anniversary of the giant slide, built right into Picnic Hill.
Pencils 2 Pixels: Daily. This new, museum-quality exhibit celebrates the art of animation through workshops, detailed displays and interactive exhibits showcasing studios like Disney, DreamWorks Animation and Sony.

The Great American Wild West Show: Daily. Watch the wild kings of the West as they show off their superior skills in all things exciting from the frontier.
Mysteries of the Amazon: Daily. Visit the Flower & Garden Pavilion for a quick trip to Brazil. Flowers, plants, and animals of South America abound in and around the exhibit.
Animal Encounters: Daily. At Mojo’s African Safari, meet Barcode and Stripes, the Safari’s resident zebras, at Zebra Crossing and Mojo’s cold-blooded friends – snakes, lizards, gators and other reptiles – in Spike’s Reptile Territory. Creepy crawlers, including tarantulas, spiders, centipedes and more, are waiting in Iggy’s Insect Encounter.
