Ontario Fire Department open house Oct. 5



The Ontario Fire Department will hold its annual Open House event on Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. to commemorate National Fire Prevention Week.
The free event is at the Ontario Fire Training Center, at 1408 E. Francis St.
This event will feature live firefighting and rescue demonstrations, as well as static displays of fire apparatus. Some of the local agencies and organizations displaying safety related information, include, the California Highway Patrol, Lowe’s, Rite Aid, Mercy Air and several city departments.

Visitors can learn more about the services the agencies provide and gain valuable information about fire prevention. Children can visit the Fire Safety House, squirt a real fire hose, and take pictures with Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddy the Fire Truck.
Ontario Fire Explorers will be hosting a fundraiser by selling food and refreshments.
