Southland Gasoline Prices Drop For Seventh Day
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the seventh consecutive day, falling eight-tenths of a cent to $4.007.
The average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 14.2 cents lower than one year ago, but 16.3 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The falling prices follow a 14-day streak of rising prices.
The Orange County average price also dropped for the seventh consecutive day today, falling six-tenths of a cent to $3.98 -- 6 cents less than one week ago and 13.8 cents lower than one year ago but 17.1 cents more than one month ago. The Orange County falling prices also follow a 14-day streak of rising prices.
The dropping prices are the result of a resolution of supply issues that had caused the latest increases in prices, according to Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
