U.S. Marshal's Service Arrests 105 People in Three Weeks in Pomona

Pomona police Chief David Keetle this week thanked the U.S. Marshal's Service for its help in arresting  105 people in a three-week period, saying it had "a significant impact on criminal activity within our city."
Pomona has seen an uptick in gang-related crimes over the past two years, and police have recorded at least 20 homicides so far this year, compared to 17 last year. In 2011, the city had 11 homicides.

On Tuesday, Keetle said "Operation Triple Beam" took a bite out of crime. The cooperative arrangement has netted 165 arrests and the seizure of 25 guns over the past two years.
The number of officers assigned to gang suppression units was increased, with officers were working gang details every day, he said.
"The efforts have had a positive impact and have slowed the violence that was being experienced at the beginning of the year," Keetle said.
