Car Kills Pedestrian at Cal Poly Pomona Near Walnut
Accident was near the city limits line between Walnut and Pomona. Westbound Temple Avenue closed during the investigation.
A pedestrian was killed by a vehicle Sunday next to the Cal Poly Pomona campus, and California Highway Patrol officers investigated the death.
The CHP was notified of the death near West Temple Avenue and South Campus Drive at 5:27 a.m., said CHP Officer Monica Posada.
Westbound Temple Avenue was closed to traffic at University Drive at 7:28 a.m. by the CHP.
The apparent crash was at or near the city limits line between Walnut, where CHP officers investigate crashes on city streets, and Pomona, which has its own police traffic department.
An L.A. County coroner unit was called to the scene at 8 a.m. Sunday.
