NATIONAL FRITTERS DAY
A variety of fillings can be found inside a batter or breading, which is deep fried or pan fried, called a fritter, then eaten and enjoyed by millions of people each day. December 2nd of each year celebrates the fritter on National Fritters Day.
Fritters, which can be found in many cuisines, are believed to have first been consumed by Ancient Romans who then introduced them to Europe.
Common fillings inside a fritter are meat, seafood, fruit, cheese or vegetables. In the United States, ”Corn Fritters” and “Apple Fritters” as well as the “Zucchini Fritter” are well known favorites of the fritter family.
