FIRST OF TWO FULL CLOSURES OF MOUNTAIN AVE AT DUARTE RD BEGINS MONDAY, MAY 12 FOR FIVE MONTHS; FULL WEEKEND INTERSECTION CLOSURE OF MOUNTAIN AVE/DUARTE RD INTERSECTION FOR PREP WORK ON MAY 9 - 11 WHEN & WHERE Friday, May 9 at 9 PM thru Sunday, May 11 at 5 PM: Full Closure of Mountain Ave/Duarte Rd Intersection Monday, May 12 thru October 2014: Full Closure of Mountain Ave from the Center of Duarte Rd North   Beginning Monday, May 12, 2014, crews will be constructing grade crossing and intersection improvements on Mountain Ave in phases north and south of Duarte Rd. The first phase of work requires a full closure to thru-traffic of Mountain Ave from the center of Duarte Rd north through the railroad crossing for approximately five months.   To prepare the street for the long-term closure, the Mountain Ave/Duarte Rd Intersection will be fully closed in all directions the prior weekend from Friday, May 9 at 9 PM thru Sunday, May 11 at 5 PM. Afterwards, Duarte Rd will re-open to one lane in each direction, while Mountain Ave will remain closed to thru-traffic for five months from the center of Duarte Rd north through the railroad crossing.   Once the northern portion of the work is complete, a second phase of closure will take place from the center of Duarte Rd south through the intersection. That work is estimated to take approximately three months, beginning October 2014 and ending in Early 2015.   Detour routes will be in place and signage will be posted to guide motorists and trucks (see below). Pedestrian access will be available through a temporary pedestrian crossing adjacent to the work zone.   Please note that bus stops in this vicinity may be temporarily relocated.
