Ren's Wayback, Garey Ave May 9, 1954

Your standing on Garey Ave. where the underpass is now looking east, to your left is the old UP Station. It was torn down because we needed the parking space, and also it would allow First St. to come straight through. Instead of going south for one block, and making a left to get back on First St. traveling east to Eleanor St. then making a left on Eleanor, then a right to get back on First St.
Now you can just go straight on First St.
The building to the right, in the background, that was a packing plant, and now it's a parking lot for Western U right on the northwest corner of First St and Eleanor St.
And just across the street from that, was a small weight station. Where trucks and there cargo can get their weight checked before they hit the road.
Now you can't get any history like that in any book.
