Foothill Gold Line From Pasadena to Azusa August 4, 2014   Construction Activity Update

Contents: 1. Four-Day Full Closure of Huntington Dr/Second Ave Intersection Begins Friday, August 8; Followed By Six Weeks of Directional Nighttime Closures - ARCADIA 2. Virginia Ave Grade Crossing Construction Extended thru Mid-August - AZUSA 3. First Phase of Mountain Ave Closure at Duarte Rd to be Completed  in Late-August, Two Months Ahead of Schedule; Three-Month Closure of Mountain Ave on Southern Half of Duarte Rd to Follow - MONROVIA & DUARTE 1. Four-Day Full Closure of Huntington Dr and Second Ave Intersection Begins Friday, August 8; Followed By Six Weeks of Directional Nighttime Closures - ARCADIA WHEN & WHERE: Friday morning, August 8, 2014 at 12:00 a.m. thru Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 6:00 a.m.: The intersection of Huntington Dr and Second Ave will be fully closed to thru-traffic to install the bridge girders. Traffic will be detoured and signage will be posted to direct motorists and pedestrians (see detour map below) Beginning Tuesday night, August 12, 2014 for approximately six weeks, Sundays thru Thursdays ONLY, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.: Huntington Dr will be closed to thru-traffic at Second Ave in either eastbound or westbound direction (never concurrently), while no thru-traffic will be allowed on Second Ave at Huntington Dr. These closures are needed to install the cross beams and deck steel. Traffic will be detoured and signage will be posted to direct motorists and pedestrians during these hours. No work will be performed on Fridays or Saturdays. Access to all local businesses, including those on Huntington Dr and Second Ave, will remain available at all times. We encourage you to take the time to support local businesses during these closures. Please note that bus stops in this vicinity may be temporarily relocated. Virginia Ave Street Closure Extended thru Mid-August - AZUSA Grade crossing work on Virginia Ave at the railroad crossing between Foothill Blvd and Sixth St has been extended through Mid-August.
