Anglers warned about contaminated fish at Puddingstone Reservoir

Due to elevated contamination levels, Los Angeles County health officials warned anglers Tuesday to avoid eating fish caught at Puddingstone Reservoir at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas.
Health officials said testing of water, fish and sediment from Puddingstone indicated fish may contain contaminants above the levels considered safe for human consumption.
County health, Public Works and Parks and Recreation officials are working to determine what steps will be taken to improve the water.
Officials said people can continue to fish at the lake, but should practice “catch and release” and not remove any fish.
A similar set of restrictions was placed on Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia.
No restrictions are being placed on other recreational activities at the lakes, such as boating and water skiing.
