Female victim rescued from trunk of abandoned vehicle in Pomona
The female victim of an alleged kidnapping attempt was rescued Monday from the trunk of a vehicle parked in an off-ramp of the 10 Freeway in Pomona, authorities said Tuesday.
The female victim called 9-1-1 to say she had been kidnapped by two men and tied up in the trunk of the vehicle, California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Bishop said.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle on the North Dudley Street off-ramp from the eastbound lanes of the freeway around 11:10 p.m. Monday, Bishop said.
“The suspects had her tied up and the car was empty,” Bishop said.
The kidnapping is being investigated by the East Los Angeles station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
NBC 4 reported that the suspects’ vehicle had Colorado license plates and that the victim had suffered minor injuries.
