POMONA , The 2014 Los Angeles County Fair is in the homestretch.
Gates opened Wednesday at noon, kicking off its final week at Fairplex.
The deep-fried food, carnival games, rides, and agricultural and other exhibits will come to a halt Sunday.
In this last week, the fair is open every day, now through Sunday. Gates open again at noon weekdays, closing at 11 p.m. Thursday and midnight Friday. The Fair opens at 10 a.m. each day of this final weekend, closing up shop at midnight Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.

Fairplex Chief Financial Officer Michael Seder said earlier this month that the month-long event provides an annual boost to the local economy similar to a Super Bowl. He said all the spending related to the fair equals close to a $300 million dollar annual economic impact, citing Los Angeles area economist Jack Kyser’s assessment.
