Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation sets ‘Night to Remember’



The Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation on Oct. 4 will present, “A Night to Remember,” to support the arts and education at the Rancho Cucamonga libraries .
This special event will feature entertainment by Rancho Cucamonga resident Rod Gilfry, a leading opera baritone, recitalist, and concert artist appearing in musical theater classics, and his daughter Carin Gilfry, a Julliard school graduate.
Among other favorites, the duo will perform an extraordinary original piece – “Prayer” – a poem written by acclaimed poet and critic Dana Gioia and set to music by 2007 National Medal for the Arts award-winner Morten Lauridsen, who will accompany the Gilfrys at this performance.

Gioia, credited with innovative national programs while director of the National Endowment for the Arts from 2003-2009, will also speak on the importance of the arts and education in America.
The $75 ticket price includes the performance and an after-party event with dessert and beverages. The program will be at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, 12505 Cultural Center Drive
