Five Things To Do This Weekend



FRIDAY-SUNDAY: The Adelanto Grand Prix will be held all weekend at the Mavericks Stadium in Adelanto hosted by So Cal M/C. It serves as Round 1 of the Big6 Grand Prix Series. Racing times are Friday starting at noon, Saturday 7:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m., and Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $25 for a weekend pass, $5 for Friday and $10 for Saturday or Sunday. SATURDAY-SUNDAY: The Crossroads of the West Gun Show returns to the Ontario Convention Center. It runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $14 for both days, children 12 and under are free. The Convention Center is at 2000 E. Convention Center Way, Ontario. SATURDAY: The Planes of Fame Museum will hold a program on “Aviation in the Movies” at its monthly Living History Flying Day at 10 a.m. at Chino Airport, 7000 Merrill Ave., Chino. Speakers will be Mark Carlson, author of a book of aviation and the movies, and William Wellman Jr., a television and motion picture actor. The featured aircraft will be the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. SATURDAY: A way to turn a good deed into a free weekday lift ticket to a local ski resort will be offered at any of the LifeStream blood centers from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Blood donors will get a free Snow Valley weekday lift ticket and an “Are You My Type?” T-shirt. KOLA 99.9’s Cindy Davis will be at LifeStream in San Bernardino from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to greet donors. Centers: 384 W. Orange Show Road, San Bernardino; 1959 E. SUNDAY: The first Cal Poly Pomona Arabian Horse Show of 2015 will be at 2 p.m. at the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center on the Pomona campus. The cost is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 6 to 17 and kids 5 and under are free. Cal Poly students and staff are free. Parking is $3 on Sundays. Information: 909-869-2224.
