LOCATION: 1000 block E. Kingsley Ave. Pomona, Ca.

CRIME: Felony Evading/Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Police Officer/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

SUSPECTS: Andria Lemos (driver), 24 year-old female, Fontana Resident and Elijah Lightewoods (passenger), 19 year-old, male, Ontario resident

Pomona Police Department detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a Montclair Police Department officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday, March 29, 2015, in the 1000 block of East Kingsley Ave., Pomona Ca.

Detectives have learned that an officer with the Montclair Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle shortly before 3:00 AM. The suspect failed to yield prompting a pursuit through residential streets in the City of Montclair. The pursuit continued into Pomona city-limits where the suspect lost control of the vehicle and collided with a fence at the intersection of Loranne Ave and Kingsley Ave. Following the collision, the suspect redirected the vehicle into the path of the solo officer resulting in an officer-involved shooting. Neither the suspect nor passenger were struck by gunfire.

The pursuit continued until the suspect vehicle collided into a raised curb at the intersection of Mission Blvd and East End Ave. disabling the vehicle. The driver, suspect Lemos, and passenger, suspect Lightewoods, were taken into custody without further incident. Both are currently being held at the Pomona Police Department Jail.
