Pomona Police Detectives make arrest for attempted murder that occurred two weeks ago.

On February 21, 2015 at approximately 3:30 am, the Pomona Police Department received calls of gunshots heard in the area of Towne Ave and County Rd. When Pomona police arrived, they began canvasing the area and found a male subject in the east alley of Chanslor St near County Rd. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was unresponsive and unable to communicate with officers. The victim was subsequently airlifted to a Los Angeles hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
After an extensive investigation police investigators were able to identify and arrest suspected gang member, Johnny Michael Castro, for his connection with this shooting.
Castro was arrested for attempted murder, and charges were filed on March 2nd, 2015, by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. Gang allegations are also being sought in regards to the suspect's involvement in this crime.
