TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER A HIGH SPEED PURSUIT

SUSPECT: David Macias, 42, Pomona Resident
Jocelyn Sanchez, 23, Pomona Resident

SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2000, Black, Ford, Expedition

UNIT: Major Crimes Task Force

NARRATIVE: While working pro-active directed enforcement, officers from Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force observed the suspect vehicle in the area of White Ave. and 9th St. The officers observed two traffic violations related to the suspect vehicle and decided to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop for the officers which led to a high speed vehicle pursuit. During the pursuit the front passenger (Sanchez) jumped out of the moving vehicle. A short time later the suspect vehicle recklessly crashed into a random vehicle on the roadway at the intersection of Park Ave.\11th St. The driver (Macias) was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of a .38 special handgun and a controlled substance. He and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision sustained minor injuries. The passenger (Sanchez) was also apprehended and found to be a parolee at large. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
