ONTARIO: Motorcyclists to start cross-country ride for vets
The 27th annual Run For The Wall cross-country motorcycle ride is set to start at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday with a kickoff ceremony at the Ontario Convention Center in Lot D.
Organizers expect nearly 1,000 motorcycle riders to embark on the trip to recognize the sacrifices and contributions made by veterans. The trip will conclude May 23 in Washington, D.C.
Three routes will be leaving Ontario simultaneously. The Southern Route heads out on I-10 to I-20 through Dallas and then east and north. The Midway Route will take I-15 to I-40 and ride east and north. The Central Route will take I-40 to Albuquerque, N.M., north to Denver then east on I-70 to D.C.
Each route includes stops at VA medical centers, Veterans’ Memorials, VFW Posts, community centers and schools along the way, offering education on accountability during wartime, emphasizing that no soldier should be left behind. The ride is open to anyone.
The center is at 2000 Convention Center Way.
