Pomona Police Department Releases 2013 Crime Statistics
The FBI gathers crime statistics from law enforcement agencies each year as part of their Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. The UCR Program collects data on select violent and property crimes. The purpose of the program is to generate a reliable set of crime statistics for use by law enforcement. The Pomona Police Department is a participating UCR agency and believes it is important to share the crime data with our residents.
During 2013, City of Pomona has experienced a decrease in all reported crimes, except homicide. The crime categories and the reported crime data for 2012 and 2013 are listed in the linked image.
The Pomona Police Department remains vigilant and will continue to utilize all available resources to suppress violence and make the community safer. Throughout the year, the Police Department has used a multifaceted approach to address crime, which has included high-visibility patrols, gang sweeps, undercover operations, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with our Law Enforcement partners. These combined efforts resulted in a significant number of arrests and firearms recovered and most likely had an effect on the 14% overall reduction of crime experienced.
