Pomona Police Unit struck by DUI Driver / Traffic Collision

SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2005 Black Honda Civic
UNIT: Traffic Division
NARRATIVE:
On September 2, 2015, at 21:42 hrs, Pomona Police Officers responded to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle verses a Pomona Police Unit. Due to complaint of pain, the driver and passenger were transported to area hospitals. The driver was identified to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision and was arrested on felony DUI charges. The Pomona Police Officer was transported to an area hospital for complaint of pain.
Initial investigation revealed the driver of the suspect vehicle turned left in front of the Police Unit failing to yield the right of way.
The collision is currently under investigation by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
