Halloween at the Ontario City Library in the 1950s wasn’t much different than it is today. In 1951, 119 Ontario children, many seen here, enjoyed a costume party and a special Halloween themed story time. Mrs. Martha Willingham shared the story, “Mrs. Twilly and the Ghost,” and then she played games with the preschool children while the older children enjoyed “The Hungry Old Witch” as told by Miss... Kathleen Borchert. Several children were awarded prizes for their costumes and everyone had a perfectly spooky time.
On Friday, October 30th from 10:30-11:30 AM, the Ovitt Family Community Library will have a special program for all little ones ages 2-5. There will be fun games, crafts, and yummy treats. Afterward, the participants will trick or treat through the library, so be sure to wear your costume! For more information on this program, please call (909) 395-2207.
