HISTORY
National Cheddar Fries Day was submitted by Snuffer’s Restaurant and Bar and declared by the Registrar at National Day Calendar.
Snuffer’s Restaurant and Bar is the home of the original cheddar fries, which were created at the restaurant’s first location in 1978.  A staple at one of Dallas’ most iconic dining institutions, every order of Snuffer’s cheddar fries consists of golden, hand-cut Idaho potato fries and layers of freshly grated, aged Wisconsin cheddar cheese. Made-to-order, these sinfully tasty and legendary fries come dressed with chives, bacon or jalapenos and have been a habit that’s too good to kick for 37 years and counting.

National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day - April 20

NATIONAL PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE DAY

National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day is observed annually on April 20th. Americans have been enjoying this springtime cake since the early 1900s when many cakes were made in cast iron skillets.
To make a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, line the bottom of a cake pan with pineapple rings. A cherry is then placed in the center of each ring followed by a butter and sugar mixture.  Cake batter is then poured over the pineapples and baked.  When the cake is done, it is turned upside down onto a platter before serving, revealing a delightful and delicious masterpiece.

National Lima Bean Respect Day is observed on April 20.  Lima beans are an excellent source of protein, iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc.  Lima beans can increase energy levels by helping to restore more iron.  Most of us have tried lima beans as a child and didn’t like them.  It’s time to give them a second chance as adults.  They are delicious in soups, stews, salads, casseroles, by themselves or mixed with other vegetables.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Enjoy lima beans with any of your meals as a way to celebrate the day.  Share your thoughts about lima beans using #LimaBeanRespectDay on Social Media.

National Look Alike Day - April 20

NATIONAL LOOK ALIKE DAY

National Look Alike Day is observed annually on April 20th.  This day was created as a fun day to look like another person.  Do you already look like someone?  We often hear the words, “You remind me of someone,” or “You look just like so and so.”  If so,  then you are one step ahead of the game.  One of the most famous “look-alikes”  is Elvis Presley, “The King of Rock-N-Roll.”
HOW TO OBSERVE
Celebrate National Look Alike Day by picking someone you will see today or select a celebrity and dress up like them. Fix your hair like their’s and talk like them all day long!  Have fun with National Look Alike Day and post your pictures on Social Media using #NationalLookALikeDay.
HISTORY
National Look Alike Day was created by feature television reporter, Jack Etzel, in the 1980s.  He was in downtown Pittsburgh with photographer Rick Minutello, desperately looking for a light feature for the news.  Rick said, “This guy coming toward us looks like Humphrey Bogart.”  He did, cigarette and all.  Jack said, “Let’s talk to him.  I’ll ask him who people think he looks like.”  They spent a couple of hours asking others the same question.  The next day Etzel got in touch with the Chase Calendar of Events people and proclaimed Look Alike Day so that they could depend on that same funny story for the next ten years.
