Deceased person located after fire at possible homeless camp

On April 19, 2016, at approximately 10:15 AM, officers and fire personnel responded to a report of a trash fire in the alley of the 1200 block of W. First St., Pomona.
After the fire was extinguished, a deceased person was located within what appears to be a single makeshift homeless camp.
Detectives and Fire Arson investigators responded and the preliminary investigation suggests that the person was likely sleeping when several candles caused the fire. Identification of the person is pending with the Coroner.
