Pomona's History, Lopez Adobe

 

One of the original Spanish Adobe houses of the Pomona area -- at 1904 Orange Grove Ave. at the end of Aliso St. purchased with several acres of orange grove around it by my Grandmother Mrs. Charlotte Day (lady to left) Lady to right I do not know. I believe it was purchased about 1890 The old "motor" tracks shown carried a car with its own engine power from Pomona to North Pomona. Miss Nethe Fox of our family -- lived there with my Grandmother and taught school in Pomona for many years.
