Glendora's tie to the Chicago Cubs. Frank Chance was a player / manager for the Chicago Cubs from 1905 to 1912, winning two World Series. Soon after his career ...ended in 1914, Chance moved out to Glendora and built the building that now stands on the north east corner of Foothill and Glendora Avenue known as the Chance building and housed the Cubs pharmacy and grocery.
Chance is famous not only for being part of the Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance double play but also for being the first player ever to be ejected from a World Series game (in 1910). Below are some pictures of the original building and how it looks today.
