From Earth to Art presents the fouth showing of Artisans of Musical Design which brings together the works of local artisans that are dedicated to creating quality artisan instruments. The participating artists of musical instrument design are Henry Barnes, Kirk Delman, Kristen Erickson, Frank Falbo, A. Freeman, Michael Kotzen, Martin Maudal, Angel Once and Vicky Rosas.
The students from the American M...useum of Ceramic Art. The AMOCA Studio students who will be featured in the exhibition are, Mary Beierle, Tim Decker , Kristen Erickson, Bobby Free, Michael Garcia, Kim Hau, Cj Jilek, Stan Klausner, Heidi Kreitchet, Lenny Larson, Gary Lett,
Kim Lingo, Jillian O'Dwyer, Wendy Thoreson, and Maureen Wheeler
For the musical instruments represented, this exhibition displays both traditional, non-traditional and ethnic varieties of instruments including guitars, drums, cajons, stringed instruments, and sound sculptures. Individually each artist allows the viewer to appreciate their individual style. Collectively they demonstrate the immense skill and knowledge involved in handcrafting each individual work as well, as the trends that flow throughout the local community of instrument crafting.
Special feature: Artist Angel Once,the real pink elephant kat. Angry Elephant est.2011 will paint a 6 foot Custom Cajon built by Michael Kotzen.
As a prelude to the exhibition, there will be the dA’s Full Moon Drum Circle led by Jason LaMotte which sill take place on Thuesday, January 14, 2017 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm. Free and open to all ages.
