Ren's did you know?

George Chaffey, Jr. was born on January 28, 1848 in Brockville, Ontario, Canada to George Chaffey, Sr. and Anne Leggo Chaffey. He was raised in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and was a self-taught engineer, working primarily in the ship building business in the Great Lakes region during his formative early adulthood. His father retired in 1878 and moved to Riverside, California, bringing George’s broth...er, William Benjamin, along with him. In 1880, George made a trip to Riverside to visit his family and decided to stay permanently. Brothers George and William Benjamin made history when they founded their Ontario colony in 1882.
