National Sticky Bun Day is observed annually on February 21st. Originally known as “schnecken” and still considered to be a Philadelphia specialty, it is believed that the sticky bun's origin in the United States began in the 18th century when the German settlers brought baking tradition with them when they began settling near Pennsylvania.
