The Miss Pomona Pageant Committee and the Downtown Pomona Owners Association (DPOA) proudly announce the 2017 Miss Pomona Scholarship Pageant. This is an opportunity for young ladies of Pomona to become the city’s representative to the public and serve as a role model. It is an exciting way for the Miss Pomona Court to make a significant contribution to our community as well as earn scholarship money to further their educational goals.
The selection of Miss Pomona and her Court is based on academic scholarship, leadership skills, involvement in school and community activities, and written and verbal communication skills. The semi-finalists are selected based on their resume, essay questions, and two letters of recommendations. The committee interviews each semi-finalist and selects the three finalists for the Court. Each of the three finalists will be required to present a prepared speech at the coronation ceremony based on a specific topic relevant to the City of Pomona. The new Miss Pomona will be selected at the coronation event. The remaining two finalists will serve as her Court.
We are hoping that you will join us as a sponsor of the event with your financial support. Your contribution will enable us to honor this year’s Miss Pomona and the two finalists with a scholarship to be used at the college or university of her choice. Additionally, it will provide the committee members the resources to organize a coronation ceremony the girls will not forget. Memories and mementos will include a reception, programs, gift baskets, entertainment and the scholarship.
The printed programs will acknowledge you as a sponsor – this is a great way to generate publicity as a supporting Pomona business. You are encouraged to attend the coronation ceremony at The Glass House - 200 W. 2nd Street, Pomona, CA, Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 3pm – 5pm a formal invitation will follow.
