An array of fascinating projects created by Pomona and Diamond Bar students will be on display at the 10th Annual Ross / McCracken Learning Expo on Sunday, May 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pomona Fairplex. The Expo, a free event co-sponsored by the Pomona Fairplex, Pomona’s Promise, Pomona Unified School District and the City of Pomona, will also feature a variety of fun activities for visitors. The purpose is to pique student interest in science, mathematics, service learning, the arts and many other exciting educational topics.

The Expo will feature student school projects to view and many activities in which to participate, such as learning how to build skeletons from owl pellets, viewing stars and constellations in a huge skydome planetarium, and even watching a cow eye dissection! Parents can learn about earthquake preparedness, how to get their children into college, and get a free health screening. There will be ageappropriate activities for all ages, from preschoolers to adults. The Fairplex hosts the event with free parking and admission! So bring the entire family!

The Pomona Youth & Family Master Plan Community Board is dedicated to working toward developing positive youth experiences in Pomona. The PYFMP is based on the national Communities That Care model to develop positive opportunities for the youth of our community. The PYFMP’s Promoting Academic Achievement Task Force is working diligently to support and encourage student interest in many educational areas in an effort to increase their love for learning!
