MAJOR INJURY: Traffic Accident

INCIDENT: TRAFFIC COLLISION

On July 20, 2017 at about 6:58 P.M., Pomona Police Officers responded to the area of Bonita Ave and Melbourne Ave. regarding a report of a traffic collision. A caller reported a vehilce had collided with a pedestrian on Melbourne Ave, just north of Bonita Ave.
Responding Officers and LA County Fire personnel arrived and found a woman with major injuries down in the lanes of traffic on Melbourne Ave. LA County Fire began to render aid and ultimately transported the woman to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the police. The woman's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
