Pomona Bank

The first bank building in Pomona (but not the first bank) was opened up for business in August of 1884 at the corner of West Second and Thomas streets. The bank was incorporated Sept. 13, 1883 by H. A. Palmer, president, and Frank L. Palmer, cashier. The building also housed Pomona's first Y. M. C. A. on the second floor and was the office location of the Pomona Land and Water Company, the forerunner of the present Consolidated Water Company. The building was known as the Palmer block and was in its time the finest in the little town. Now Zilles Jewelry Store 1926
